Excellent food and service.  Everything you'd expect from a classic New Orleans eatery.
My husband and I are visiting from Fort Lauderdale for the Southern decadence stopped great old world restaurant. Beautiful well preserved with a fab spiral staircase to second floor black duck bar We started with salmon bites, jambalaya, and oyster dip my husband had a catfish delish with pecans seasoned with Cajun spice I had a steak also very good we ended with their famous crab cheesecake for dessert and it was different but good
It's been 7 years since my last visit and the food is just as delicious. Crabmeat cheesecake, shrimp Tchefuncte, and bananas foster were incredible. It's a testament to how serious this place takes its food that the taste is consistent over decades! The "mint drulep" tasted like cough syrup, but the bartender quickly replaced it with a more appetizing cocktail at no charge. The only reason for the reduced star is the male bartender at the upstairs bar, "Black Duck Bar" who kept loudly complaining to his colleague about the management and even sparred with the manager a bit in front of customers. Both the bartender and manager should have taken their heated conversation out of sight and earshot of customers.
