Went in early for dinner and was told that I need to give up my table in an hour and there were few tables available. Server was just matter of fact and not friendly at all. A hair was found in the fries and I brought it up to the same unfriendly server. She just took the plate away and discarded the fries when I said I didn’t want them anymore. No apologies. ‍♀️ She did not bother to take it off the bill though so I had to mention it before paying. Then she just wrote the new price without much comment nor apology Food was okay, not mind blowing. Service should improve to be more inviting. Will not return
Good food, good prices
Restaurant Palermo, two blocks from where we're staying, was recommended by our B&B host and our experience matched his accolades. After a huge lunch at 3:30 p.m., we weren't terribly hungry for out 9:00 p.m. dinner reservation at a Catalan restaurant . We had a few glasses of tempranillo (3,75 euro) and three tapas; patatas bravas, catalan sausage and an endive salad that we split. We sat at one of the four tables outside enjoying the passersby. Entirely unpretentious ambiance.  All locals as best we could determine. The staff were all welcoming, helpful and engaging. Shots of limoncello completed our meal. 37,85 euros total. Exactly the type of local restaurant we came to Barcelona to experience. Highly recommended.
