First meal out since 2nd lockdown. Started off with British bubbles in the bar area whilst waiting for the table. It was a Friday night and the place was heaving. Parker's Tavern is one of my favourite dining experiences in Cambridge. The Decor, the Staff's attentiveness, the comprehensive reasonably priced wine list and of course the food. It all makes for a delightful evening. I was unfortunately let down by the food. The authentic tastes were there but it lacked the attention to detail that I've come to expect from them. We had Mushroom risotto to start with the beef rib as a main course. I can only imagine that the kitchen struggled, after lockdown, with the numbers they experienced on the evening. Risotto was closer to soup than a risotto, was sent back and the chef produced a better variation. My question is, how could that first dish have left the kitchen? I'll definitely go back as the evening itself was magnificent. The views onto Parkers Piece are amazing as to is the atmosphere.

I took my daughter for lunch for her birthday today. Full marks to the staff and chef. The meal was absolutely delicious - we both had smoked salmon and duck. My daughter had rice pudding soufflé for dessert, it was fabulous. The place was full, but lots of space for social distancing. I'll be going there again soon. Oh and the pre-lunch cocktails were delic.
