Italian sodas. hearty salads. drool-worthy dumplings. family-owned feeling. I can't recommend this spot enough.
If you want something unique, this is your place. It is pretty tiny- if you blink you may miss it. Seating is pretty limited. There are a few tables outside in the front but they are not separated from the sidewalk so you're just kind of sitting out there. There are also a few tables on the side patio. During a hot summer day or evening, this area was a little bit warm. There are also a couple small tables inside (it was even hotter in there). It's counter service. The menu is one page and has appetizers, soups, sandwiches, salads, desserts and lots of things with polenta (including the peach polenta upside down cake). Most of the things on the menu I had never heard of, and I go to a lot of restaurants-I later discovered it was Romanian food. No wonder! But we took chances, and just started ordering what was recommended by the cashier. My vegan daughter was very satisfied and had many options. I ordered a healthy chicken salad and was very fresh and good. Others at our table ordered a chicken polenta dish -served in a bowl and eaten with a spoon (very tasty and full of Mediterranean flavors), a sausage sandwich on flatbread (different, but good, according to my son, and vegan patties (pretty tasty). My eight-year-old daughter, who normally has a very adult palette, did not seem to like anything. For dessert we tried The pineapple upside down cake and the chocolate cake. Neither of them were anything to write home about. Both were a bit dry and tasted more like corn bread than cake. But overall it was a good experience. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something different and unique with a home-cooked feel.
I love the food from Parsnip it's delicious but we've only done take out. More tba when we go in person
