We went without a booking for lunch and they accommodated us even though it was busy so we really appreciated that, friendly staff and the food was so fresh. So simple and yet so tasty and delicious. Amazing wine recommended also. We will come back for sure!

The food was really fantastic and the waitress was super friendly and helpful, suggested a really lovely wine to go with our food. The maitre D however was rude and aggressive. He slapped down two desserts that we did not want ,did not order, and did not eat . Just because we were having the set menu does not mean you have to eat all 3 courses. Paying customers not children. A total lack of respect especially for women.

Lovely late lunch at Pastel after wandering through the nearby contemporary art museum. The menu is simple but excellent - choice of two starters (on our visit, a delectable pea soup with lardons or a beet salad with fresh ricotta/farm cheese), and three entrees: a fresh white fish with curried cauliflower and carrots, or a filet of veal with capers and sage with sublimely silky mashed potatoes. Get a starter and entree for 16€ or add dessert and get 3 courses for 19€. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. Service was friendly and down-to-earth. My companion and I were perfectly charmed by this spot, and can only recommend it highly.
