We arrived at a couple of minutes to 9 and were seated quickly. We ordered an aperitif and sat and waited ... after about 20 minutes we had to ask to see a menu ... and were finally able to order our food after 30 minutes.
45 minutes after we’d been seated and with no sign of any food the head waiter brought us a cheese tapa as he realised we’d been waiting a long time.. but there seemed to be plenty of waiting staff and other meals were coming out regularly.
When it reached 60 minutes and all we’d had was a tiny piece of bread and cheese we asked for the bill.
This caused a flurry of activity with the waiters asking us to be patient as they were very busy ... we believed we’d been patient enough and insisted on the bill. This still took about 15 minutes to arrive though.
We paid for our aperitif and the bottle of wine we’d drunk whilst waiting!
One of the waiters said he hoped things would be better next time to which we replied “ there won’t be a next time”; he advised us of a different restaurant where we’d get a great meal....
We were really looking forward to our celebration meal but we never got to taste anything.
I don’t know if they need more staff in the kitchen or waiters or why this happened but I know it wasn’t our fault and was a costly 75 minutes!
There are literally hundreds of restaurants in Nerja - many of which we’ve had great meals in - so we won’t be giving this place a second chance.
