Ahhmaaazing!!! Excellent ambiance and amazing food. Great place for dinner after office with your colleagues or a dinner date night. Food presentation and taste , both areoutstanding.
As a SURPRISE for my husband for his birthday and for me as this was both our very 1st time visiting this place, I must say we were both impressed! The staff that waited on us was absolutely wonderful and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was great!!! I had the Seafood Estepada which was really good. I'm not a fan of Scallops but with the bacon wrapped around it, it was ok for someone who does not like Scallops (trying something different). I didn't care for the carrot mixture as it had no flavor, but the Spinach and Potatoes were a hit! My husband had the Chicken and he said it was really good and of course I had to sample it and he was right! I will definitely get the Chicken on my next visit and you have to have the dipping sauce x's 2!We will definitely be back!
Named after a spice discovered by the Portuguese in South Africa, this restaurant is a nice tribute to that culinary heritage. I have never had South African fare before but the explosion of new flavors I experienced can only be explained by this never before experienced cuisine. The bar area was bright but a bit sloppy looking and very different than the main room. They are connected by a dark hallway lined with wine bottles from floor to ceiling. The decor in the main dining room is beautiful, if a little dark. It has beautifully patterned LED lighting on the ceiling which begs to be Instagrammed. Our waiter spoke fast - which is probably not best for a place that is serving food that is foreign to the general public. But he and three other staff were friendly and helpful when needed. Food was delicious. The skewers were all tasty. The bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops on one skewer were a bit overcooked but the sauce on them was excellent. The brussel sprouts that accompanied the lamb chops were even better than the lamb itself. That should be its own appetizer. The seafood skillet was described as kind of a paella but it was more like a keto version where you could count the grains of rice on one hand. Lastly, for dessert, the cost cake with ice cream was outstanding combination of sweet, moist, and chocolatey. Definitely a great place to dip your toes into SA food and if you want to try something different in a beautiful setting.
