What a wonderful surprise!  We had a great seafood dinner with 6 of us right down from street from the Hotel Mozart.  The prawns were some of the best ever.  The atmosphere is like a fish market with the owner attending personally to all the details.  The house white was crisp and excellent.  We were treated like family and they even brought sliced strawberries in a scallop shell for our two-year-old grandson. It was a memorable experience and I recommend it.  Our recommendation..order the baklava and the vanilla custard AND put them together...delicious. Very fun evening...he is a great Tenor too.
Great food, great wine! The mixed appetizer was especially delicious. It came with salmon and tuna. I think some type of tuna salad, some type of fish salad in a mustard sauce, cheesy eggplants and tiny stuffed red peppers. I would definitely recommend it. I had the sea bass. It came with potatoes and veggies as many have mentioned. The sea bass was so tender. My boyfriend had the prawns and calamari. Also very good. The best part was the wine. I'm pretty sure it was local. I would love to be able to order it in the states but no such luck in my search. The biggest issue I think people have is the service. I think it's ridiculous to give a place a one star if the food is amazing but they don't like the service. First of all, I have journeyed to many places in Germany/Austria this week and the service isn't what is expected in America. If you want something, you need to take initiative most of the time. The only places where I did not was a very touristy place at the bottom of the eagles nest in bertchesgaden and my b&b where they knew what we've been ordering for breakfast everyday. Know the culture before you judge it. Secondly, I'm almost 100% sure the person who sat us was the owner. He didn't know much English so I don't know how in god's name he would manage to be able to tell someone to go eat eat at a KFC or a McDonald's if they don't like how things are. Also, he was very friendly and so was our server. Lastly, what a joke to compare it to fast food. All the food is very fresh. You can see it displayed on ice when you walk in. Although you would typically head towards a traditional Austrian restaurant while going for a visit, this place is a guaranteed good meal. A few tips: 1) They don't close at 2PM during the week. I was there until around 8:45PM and there was people still eating. 2) If you're having trouble finding it, it's located at the middle island at the fork in the road. (You'll understand what I'm saying when you get close) 3) They DO accept credit/debit
Fantastic fish and seafood dishes. Sincerely from Malaysian soul!!!
