Pierozek provided an ample and delicious meal for 19 guests at a sit down dinner in Manhattan to celebrate my 90th birthday last weekend. I figure it cost $28 each, including the $60 delivery fee, Owner Alexandra helped me plan a menu that could suit a variety of preferences--including vegan, vegetarian, and lactose intolerant variations on traditional pierogie, cabbage rolls, croquettes, beet salad. I just added appetizers, a cold salmon, rice and mushrooms, the birthday cake and booze. Everyone ate heartily. A number of people left with big takeaway servings . And my fridge still had enough leftovers to feed me the remainder of this week . It was a joyful experience, a reminder of my Polish grandmother, a great food adventure for many of my guests who were unfamiliar with the food and now love it.
