One star for the staff who were friendly and did try to fix the other issues without complaint. However for me there is almost no other reason to recommend this place. - I felt that you are paying for location which is fairly normal around here but in my opinion, the food was bland bordering on bad and doesn't at all live up to the price point for me, 'good location' or not. Quite overpriced by my standards. - Location - theoretically good as it's right downtown, and has the 'canal view' but I found the water here is dirty and still and simply not worth it. Up on the street side it is quite busy with people walking by all the time. - I found the food itself felt unfresh and generally very bland. Bread was stale according to my standard. Overall if you're in the city centre and can manage to walk another 5 minutes, I believe almost any other option in the vicinity would be better. Most I can recommend is to stop here for just a drink if anything. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €10–20 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

We had ordered food. When it came to the table, it turned out that my meal was accidentally (I don't want to insinuate anything, but it's strange) the most expensive thing on the pasta menu (with truffles). The waiter asked me to accept it because it was very busy and the kitchen was very busy. I would have had to wait until my food came, during that time my mother's food, who had accompanied me, would have gotten cold or she would have had to eat first and then wait for me. So I accepted the food and was asked to pay for it in full. Not a great experience and left a bad aftertaste.

Unfortunately, my visit to Café Ponton was a disappointing experience. We had to wait an unusually long time for service, and when breakfast was finally served we were beyond disappointed. The quality of the food left a lot to be desired. The salami looked like it had been sitting for too long, the salmon wasn't fresh, and the cheese seemed to have already started to tarnish. The rolls were dry and the waffle seemed old and tough. When we gave our feedback on the quality of the food, we were treated with a derogatory tone by the waitress, which added to our disappointment. It's a shame that our experience was so negative as we were looking forward to a pleasant visit to Café Ponton. Hopefully in the future the cafe can improve the quality and service to ensure all guests have a positive experience. Meal type: Brunch Price per person: €20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
