What an amazing experience!!! Food was out of this world and the service was way beyond. For our main dish he went with  the Wagyu beef and I had the steelhead trout. Everything was so delicious. Love the presentation of every dish. A huge thank you to Zolie and Monika for this wonderful night
This restaurant has definitely been on the bucket list for a few years. As one of the more expensiverestaurants in Southern California and more well-known for culinary excellence, the badge of two stars from Michelin recently made it even more desirable to finally have a dinner here. LA Dine week also featured Providence as one of the restaurants so the deal for three course at $100 per person was appealing. It sits on a dim corner on Melrose Ave, with an option for valet or self parking across the street. The first room you see to your right is a small bar to grab a cocktail while you wait. There were just about 7 unique drinks to choose from. I was seated quickly and my first observation was that the ambiance and decor wasn't as special as I was expecting from a two star Michelin. The food, however, far exceeded expectations. The "three course" dinner started out with a few different appetizers that were served separately. The first was some type of vegetable purée served in a fancy glass that you can shoot. That was followed by muscles with glaze served in shell along with thin sliced raw salmon and roe. The three course dinner ended up being around 11 dishes altogether (total was around $480 after tax and tip). I opted for the Wagyu beef upgrade for the main and I am very happy I did. The Waugh A5 beef was by far the best piece of meat I've ever had. It was so tender and the fat was so soft that it melts in your mouth. The service was about as excellent as you'd expect, although it was a notch down from three star Michelin restaurant in New York, Jean Georges. While the food was outstanding, the ambiance and environment to us wasn't special enough. It needed that awe factor that gets you smiling as you look around in between dishes.
