We were preparing for a 2 hour drive and I needed something to ensure I didn’t fall asleep behind the wheel. Found this nice coffee shop on the corner and gave it a try. Don’t recall what exactly I had but some unique type of pie/cake/pastry. It was palatable and went well with the coffee. Kind of a hipster feel to it but the coffee and desert was worthwhile. Two pieces of pie and two coffees came to $16. Yikes! But as they say “you get what you pay for”!
A great coffee place! The service was very friendly and efficient. I had a breakfast sandwich that tasted fantastic! I'll definitely be going back!
I cannot stress enough how exquisite the coffee is here. My partner is quite the coffee snob and every time I'm in the Buffalo area for work, I make sure to stop by and pick up a bag of their beans for him. Each bag is roasted daily and professionally sealed to keep. Our favorite thus far has been the Vintage Kintamani from Bali, with notes of grape, blueberry, and fruit punch. In addition to great coffee, Public Espresso + Coffee offers an interesting selection of sandwiches and bowls/plates. During my most recent visit, I ordered the Grain & Veg Bowl, which came with sweet potatoes, honey glazed carrots, barley, and spinach drizzled with a lemon vinaigrette. I was able to add half an avocado for an additional $3. The flavors were balanced (savory yet sweet), except for the overwhelming amount of oil that coated the entire dish. I'm not sure whether it was a result of cooking the vegetables or part of the vinaigrette, but every bite I took felt soaked in oil, which detracted from the otherwise "healthy" lunch I was hoping to enjoy. Overall, amazing coffee but hit or miss food. I definitely recommend dropping in if only for the coffee.
