Initially, the restaurant was a little dirty, chip crumbs on seats, chairs, in menus. The margarita flight was fun! Chile Rellanos were cold upon arrival, not even the cheese inside was melted, but tasted fine except even for how perfectly cooked the carnitas were they were SO salty. Everyone else enjoyed their food enough but weren't raving and the service was very, very slow. Good drink spot and the beans coming in brightly colored chip bowls was fun. The servers were kind! And understanding.

The rave reviews for Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurant are well deserved. My meal was special enough to inspire a review. The selection of Mexican beers on tap was good. The waiter started me off with chips and the expected, in this market bland red salsa. It exceeded expectations. She also brought a warm bean sauce which was an excellent surprise. The picante sauce I requested was also very good. I ordered the guacamole. It was freshly made and pleasing. It was accompanied by a surprising chipotle sauce which was also excellent. The chiles rellenos were excellently prepared. One was stuffed with Monterrey Jack cheese and topped with a red sauce. The second was carnitas and a tomatillo sauce. The word excellent shows up here a lot. Everything about the restaurant, the ambiance, the service, and the food was excellent. You might even find me there again myself.

It's the best!!! We come often and Esch time it's consistently great. Take out is also very worthwhile.
