Service was very good to excellent; Amber was great. My husband's French dip meat was overly tough and salty. Horseradish sauce was very heavily diluted with mayo. My taco salad with chicken had a chicken breast that looked anemic (NOT grilled appearing), long strips of Romaine lettuce and over 1/3 cup of sour cream and very little tomato. Shell was greasy looking and unappealing. Have eaten here before (we live in Kona) and this was disappointing! Ambiance is quiet and pleasant with TV's for people facing the wall.

While vacationing on the big island of Hawaii, we stopped in to the Waikoloa Beach area. While there are many food options in the two marketplace areas, this seemed best for a light lunch and a few beers. The Nashville Hot Gourmet Dog sounded interesting so I took a chance. The dog was cooked perfectly, the Nashville Hot batter wasn't too hot (maybe a 2 on a 1-10 hotness scale), and the bun, slaw and pickles were a nice complement. Fries were a bit light but I don't need the extra carbs. Sampled some local brews. I've had Longboard Lager before (very good) but also tried the Ola Lager which was also good. Good food and good prices for Hawaii, and friendly service While sitting outside surrounded by paradise.

As a transplanted local, you really have to adjust your expectations here. Servers get almost no training, and turnover is high and pay low. If the food is hot and the prep good count yourself lucky. Sorry, we know it's your vacation. Try Foster's Kitchen, they do a good job.
