My friends and I worked here a few years ago and loved it, and we haven't been in for a few years and decided to come back to watch my boyfriends friends band, and the service was terrible. I ordered a tequila pineapple and they only filled my glass half way up with pineapple juice and it was impossible getting someone's attention so I had to drink straight up tequila and that was the only drink I was able to get despite being there for almost 3 hours. My other friends showed up at 8 and nobody came up to us at the bar until after 9 ( after we had to repeatedly  try to ask multiple bartenders for drinks to which they would respond sure and just walk away and not come back)  despite the fact that it was completely empty right in front of them and they obviously were waiting for drinks. Nobody would even make eye contact with us so we could ask for more drinks and it wasn't even that busy at this point. Two bartenders kept yelling at one bartender and being super rude and aggressive to him and it was so awkward. As someone who has worked in the industry for 10+ years it's super inappropriate to talk to co workers like that no matter what especially in front of guests, and I'm surprised that bartender didn't walk out. It ruined the whole vibe tbh which was already weird to begin with. I know it wasn't just us who received bad service because everyone seemed annoyed, and people in the bathroom were talking about how bad the service was and how these people even make money. But yeah I was really looking forward to drinking here and it was really bad. Also some random person was bleeding everywhere  and bled all over my arm and my boyfriends jacket and the people working the door didn't care at that there was a random person bleeding heavily everywhere.

One of my "Must Do" when in Van. Staff has  always been courteous, consistent, and amazing over the years. Love hearing up and coming bands/artists and the Railway stage and sound is a great fit for all acts I've enjoyed there.

Railway is a great spot for casual drinks right off the core of downtown Vancouver. You can't go wrong with a happy hour that runs from 4pm-8pm. Yes, you read that right, a four hour happy hour. Multiple breweries are on special, and they've got some damn good truffle fries available as well. The downside to such a good happy hour is that this place is packed. It can be tough to nab a table right after work, especially on a Thursday or Friday. Expect it to be almost uncomfortably packed, even if you do find a seat. The last time I went to Railway I saw a friend's band play, which was awesome. There's a good vibe in the stage area, although I will say, stick to the left side of the audience. For some reason they crank the heat out of the right side and it's unbearably hot. All in all, Railway is a good time, and worth going back to. I just wish it was a little less hectic and a little easier to get comfortable seating for a group.
