Great customer service. Good prices and food was delicious. They were sold out of karaage so we didnt get to try it. Now we have an excuse to go back soon .
I am basing my review strictly on the spicy tonkotsu ramen because that is what I like and come here for, and it is usually what I will order in other ramen places if they have it. I have not ordered other food items at Menma. With that in mind, I have to admit I am shocked at some of the negative reviews here since I have only had very good experiences the three times I have eaten here. Whether this is due to some unevenness in the food on different days, or people having very different taste than mine, I don't know. I hope it is not competitors posting dishonest reviews trying to sabotage the reputation- that would be very lowly. All I can say is I have tried ramen shops all over North County (usually for a work day lunch) and also Convoy area if I have occasion to be down there. While my favorite is a certain hard-to-get-into Convoy place, Menma has easily become my favorite in North County. People should understand that ramen broth is not supposed to be "a certain thing", but that normally each restaurant individualizes the recipe.  I like their spicy tonkotsu recipe a lot, due largely to the depth and complexity of their broth, which is what I pay the most attention to. I was at first quite surprised at the addition of cheese into the spicy broth, but quickly came to appreciate the chef's intentions, as the flavor and texture of the cheese brings a lot to the depth of flavors. I enjoyed the toppingsjust as much, but broth is really my focus. I will be back again and again, I am sure. I hope they will open Saturday, then I can bring my partner and we will try more menu items.
My 12 year old daughter and I took the metrolink from the Norwalk/Santa Fe station and needed a place to eat on Aug 31st(Labor Day weekend).  We had our bikes with us so I yelped Ramen and Ramen MENMA popped up.  We decided to give it a try.  My daughter is pretty simple so she ordered chicken nuggets and a bowl of rice.  I ordered the standard size spicy ramen.  I also ordered an appetizer.  The FRIED Octopus.  This was the best fried Octopus I've ever had.  I kept thinking about the octopus all weekend while I was vacationing in Carlsbad.  I told my family about it.  I was thinking about going there again on Sunday Sep 1st or Monday Sep 2nd, but didn't get a chance to make it to Oceanside.  Now that I'm back home in Cerritos, this is one place I'll visit everytime I go south to San Diego.  We visit San Diego about 5 times a year.  Got to have my fried Octopus from Ramen MENMA.
