Relish is a fully functioning restaurant that allows culinary students to have the opportunity to experience food service from all aspects. Training in the class room teaches them the skills they need to produce delicious food. They learn knife skills, regional and international cookery and plating. I'm simplifying it a bit but as part of the curriculum they also have a full semester of "real" food service in Relish. You can watch through the window or on screen as your food is being prepared. The servers are also students learning fine dinning skills and proper service. The menus and recipes are set by Chef instructors who also monitor each aspect of food handling, service and presentation. Relish gives them some practical experience that prepares them for their future culinary career. Desserts are made by the baking and pastry students on site. Not only will you eat very well for very little, you will give these students valuable experience and feed back. Totally a win-win!

This restaurant is run by the culinary department and restaurant management department of Trident Tech. The service was good, for students learning how to appropriately run a restaurant. Our waiter was unfamiliar with what the foods on the menu for the day were. He had to find someone else to explain it to us. That is certainly something they can improve on. The waiters should know the food and be able to describe it. The food itself was delicious! We had three courses: appetizers, main course and dessert. There were two or three options for each one. The food was fresh, presented beautifully and tasted great! The fresh iced tea was awesome and they even offered a special flavored iced tea, which was nice. When we were there, it was a rosemary iced tea. It does take about an hour or so to get through the meal, so def set aside some time for it. When you arrive, be sure to know which building it is in. (Building 920)  I got a nice walking tour of the campus, trying to find it. Also, their maps are printed backwards. (A faculty member had to tell me that, as I kept ending up in dead ends, when I should have been in a cross hallway. It was weird) Certainly make reservations. They do them via OpenTable (So you can get points!) I highly recommend trying it out if you have the time.
