What a special little gem of a restaurant. Impressive menu, delicious food, staff that cares...perfect date night experience.
Going out for us isn’t the easiest or most frequent event. So when we do, we’d like it to be a memorable experience. Riffs didn’t disappoint. Delicious, carefully crafted dishes, and a professional wait staff that really cares. I can’t wait to come back.
Bad, bad service. Very slow, waitress rarely checked on us, did not seem to care that we were unhappy with our food. Everyone's entrees were very salty. I had the special, which was cod, and it came with a bunch of very salty, slippery vegetables, and no grain, so the whole dish was just a big warm slippery salty mess. I could barely eat it. I let the waitress know and she had no response. They did not have gf bread for my brother's burger so we went to another restaurant and bought some, which Riff's had no problem with using, so they clearly aren't worried about not having a gf environment (in which case why wouldn't they just keep a loaf around?) My brother specified "nothing on the burger except bacon and a fried egg," which is how he orders his burger everywhere. It arrived with garlic aioli, which ruined the gf bread we'd bought. The waitress was not apologetic, she said "that's how the burger comes, the aioli is gluten free so I didn't think it would be a problem," which is beside the point given that he ordered it with nothing. He had no choice but to eat it since we had no other gf bread. I am appalled that the waitress, Karen, made absolutely no effort to improve our experience. She didn't offer to bring us a different entree or have them altered in any way, didn't take anything off the bill, didn't offer a free dessert, etc. I would have asked to speak to a manager, but I was with my family and they said let's just have a nice time. The appetizers were very good and the dessert was very good, so if I ever go back, I'll stick to eating those, but every entree was like a salt bomb and the service was abysmal.
