Burgers and dogs are amazing. Love this place.
Absolute best burger of my life across many states, including the “best” burger places in New York. The Nameless Burger is outstanding, the Cajun fries with the sauce are incredible and the food/drink selection is to die for. On top of it all, the owners are usually there and soooo friendly, but not in a fake “smile because I have to” kind of way, but straight up genuine. The interior decor is really cool too and I love the outdoor patio area when it’s open in the summer. I come here as often as I can and HIGHLY recommend it. This place better be around forever because when I crave Riley’s, nothing can stop me!!! *drooling as I write this*
Joint # 55: RILEY'S HOT DOG & BURGER GOURMET, New Britain, CT, Riley's Hot Dog and Burger Gourmet established itself as a hot dog cart in 2010, but more recently expanded to it's first restaurant as of Oct., 2014. The owners envisioned a joint that would create a unique setting for both hot dog enthusiasts and hamburger connoisseurs alike. One walk through the front door and it is clear that these guys spent a great deal of time decorating and providing the diner with a certain 'feel' of style and grace in a urban environment. RATINGS..., John: 9.5/10, Me: 9.5/10. We ordered two House Dogs - they use Martin Rosol's, Inc. beef/pork dog, 6/1, with natural casing. They cook the dogs on the griddle. Our dogs came with yellow mustard, onions, Riley's meat sauce, and Riley's hot relish. John said, "It's been quite a few months since we've had a hot dog. It's been since September 2014, we're now in 2015. So we came here and had a House Dog which was mustard, onion, sauce and it had a hot relish on it. Fantastic. It had some spice to it. It kicked in a little bit later. It was sweet. It's a Martin Rosol. It was delicious and ughhhh, I got to go with a 9 and a half on this dog; I was very impressed. Very, very impressed." I said, "So Riley's was, as John mentioned, really a treat. I've been eyeing this place for a long time as it took the owners a while to open the place (due to the tremendous job they did with the menu, decor, etc.). It's a Martin Rosol dog, made right here in New Britain. It's a beef & pork dog, 6/1. It was fantastic. They do it on the griddle, we asked the owner. The hot relish was very complementary with the meat sauce, the mustard and the onion - it was just tremendous! It's easily a 9.5" If you are looking for something new, something with great ambiance and a hot dog that will knock your socks off, Riley's is the joint for you! Among a plethora of hot dogs and burgers to chose from (many on the spicy side too), they also offer a host of other unique menu items including locally roasted coffee, baked sweets made daily, salty balls (salt brined baby yellows). We certainly will be back to Riley's sooner rather than later!!! facebook.com / The Dawg Tour
