Superb specialty coffee in Sembalun area with an equally superb view from the restaurant terrace, deserving a 5-star rating. We came during the weekdays so there were very few customers. Plenty of parking area available in front of the restaurant and a nice musolla (prayer room) available for Muslims. Mahakala Cafe is a gem nestled in Sembalun, Rinjani Mt. The view is absolutely breathtaking, overlooking ancient caldera turned rice paddy fields, lush greenery, and charming villages. The air is so fresh, you can practically taste it. The coffee packs a punch - strong and satisfying. However, the snacks were a bit lackluster and could use some improvement. Price-wise, it’s a tad higher compared to local spots, more like what you’d find in Jakarta. But for that view? Totally worth it.
