Risoelatte was the first place we visited when we arrived to Milan. We had higher expectations which were not met. I should admit that the place looks nice, giving you the feeling of being at your grandmother's house.
As for the food, we did not like it much. We had better Italian food back in our country. The staff was friendly and recommended some of her favorite dishes. We had the Risoelatte and a pasta whose name I forgot. The Risoelatte was okay, nothing special about it. The cheese in the pasta was too strong we couldn't finish the dish. The staff was kind enough to replace the pasta with another dish, but we did not like it as well.
Disappointing.

I am very disappointed after having dined in this experience.
To be fair, the service was amazing and the waitresses tried to help despite some language barrier. The place is beautifully decorated, gives you a real home-feel.
They gave us some Risoelatte in the beginning which wasn't bad, we ordered a Risoelatte and a Spagetthi that came with a very strong-tasting cheese, we didn't like it at all. The Risoelatte tasted better, but still wasn't something I'd have ever again. I told them about the issue with the spagetthi and they offered to get me another dish, which was yet another disappointment.
It is clear that the ingredients they use are of high quality but we just didn't like the combinations, and the particularity of this restaurant is that all the dishes are unique and there are no ubiquitous dishes for those who dare not be adventurous.

What a great experience. It's like eating at your Italian grandmothers house. Worth the trip just for that. The tiramisu was amazing. The riso Milanese was perfect - it takes about 25 minutes because they make it when you order it. We loved our antipasto - but mostly it was just a great experience over all.
