Eating at this restaurant with a great view of Just 4 Fun Aqua Park will be a beautiful experience for customers. The key aspect of Riva is the Italian cuisine. Nothing can be better than ordering good beef tenderloin, pizza and rack of lamb. The truth is that you will really like tasty fruitcake.

The wine list is extensive, every guest can find something that suits their taste. Get your meal started with delicious tea. The knowledgeable bar staff reflects the style and character of this place.

This place is truly to be avoided. It claims to be fine dining, and it really tries to sound like it, but the ingredients let it down severely. This is pub food. The wine list is scant & lacking so many local amazing wines. I don't have food photos because I forgot (since it was nothing to look at). We both had scallops as a starter.  They were ok. A salad & seasonal veg as sides. It surprised me that what came out was diner or cafeteria food. It wasn't bad, but there was no effort whatsoever. Honey Crusted Barramundi main: this was actually served hot (yay), the crust was delightful, but it was unfortunately very very over cooked. "Eye fillet" steak. See pic attached: this was flank or sirloin, not eye fillet. 2 skinny pieces! It was actually cooked to perfection and the taste was good (thanking my lucky stars I got the beef jus on the side because it tasted like marmite). The problem with this dish is that it was served just a touch above cold: and that was including being served almost 5 minutes before my date, I suspect they were politely trying to serve us together, but when they saw it was getting much too cold they just brought it out. The servers were very enthusiastic & lovely, so much so that we lied to them and told them we had a lovely dinner even though the food was not good.

In this review I'm including my experiences at breakfast, dinner in both Riva and the Gov as well as overall staying at the resort. They're all connected. Staff: Very friendly and accommodating, I was with my 2 year old daughter. At breakfast they were particularly lovely staff. I didn't try Dome but popped into Aristos and wouldn't go back there voluntarily, staff didn't give a toss. At dinner they brought kids' pack with colouring, stickers and crayons. Great thing to have because it's a bit boring for kids. Food: Pretty good. I had mushroom risotto at Riva and a chocolate tart afterwards. At the Gov I had a fettuccine which was fine. My daughter had pasta too. Husband had a steak which was cooked well but wasn't the best piece of meat Value: Hard to say because everything is expensive on Rotto. $29 for a risotto, $35 for a steak, $14 kids meals... $14 desserts and $7 kids desserts. It's definitely overpriced but no more so than any other place on Rotto. Even the shop is overpriced for everything. Take it into consideration when booking or bring your own stuff over with you on the ferry. Try not to think about the price. Cleanliness: As good as you could probably get on an island with sand everywhere. It's not the Ritz Carlton so don't go in expecting luxury, but it's comfortable, tidy and what do you really need?
