These guys were absolutely fantastic and the food was brilliant! Daughter is extremely gluten intolerant and hasn't been able to have fish and chips in years. They even had GF vinegar!! Our go-to place, given that almost all the dishes are gluten free. Yes - GF battered sausage, chips and gravy!!! Boom. It has a great reputation for its fish and chips, which is not wholly undeserved. Most of my family rate Rothley Fisheries above all others - though I personally find the batter chewy and the fish a little overcooked. Chips are lovely. Portions are gigantic... and the service is always wonderful; you rarely wait, and the staff are cheery. A tad pricey. How standards have fallen, I always thought that this chippy was the best in Leicestershire but since the refurbishment the chips are 'soggy' and the batter was full of fat / greace. Such a shame that what was once an example to food is now one to avoid at all cost.
