A MICHELIN star: cuisine of great finesse. Worth the step!

Simple standard. Our best addresses.

The location is out of the ordinary, as is the philosophy behind the cuisine! This restaurant is housed in the city's narrowest building, which is nevertheless seven storeys high. The stylish and sleek interior boasts fantastic views of the River Main through large floor-to-ceiling windows. On the menu: 100% vegan cuisine made from organic produce... More info

What a place!! Truly a hidden gem. We only had drinks and not food. The place has an underground ''private'' bar that has cellar vibes. You could play your own music order amazingly fresh and tasteful cocktails and get top notch service. Thumbs up to all the guys who work there and put together an amazing concept. (An even more detailed version of this review can be found at TripAdvisor) :-) “Then I wish you a lot of fun with it” - this sentence with which chef Ricky Saward ends the presentation of each dish in his impressive seven-course menu could not be more emblematic of our experience at SEVEN SWANS. Because fun is obviously the main focus at all times. On February 15th, after almost exactly a year of waiting, my girlfriend and I were finally able to sit down in Ricky's restaurant. Describing the seven main courses and three finger food snacks at the beginning and end of the menu in detail would go beyond the scope of this review. Each course consists of an almost endless list of components that are combined into perfect creations using a variety of sophisticated cooking techniques. We would never have expected that Ricky's vegetable cuisine could taste so warming, rich and, quite simply, “hearty”. Each dish creates an absolute taste explosion, and we were particularly impressed by the fact that you can specifically taste the individual components. Be it the pieces of moss just a few millimeters in size on a kind of mushroom praline that taste maritime and salty, or the fine strips of a carrot that is only 21 days old - without exception, every component and every taste that Ricky promises in the presentation of the dishes is found at the end also on the plate and on the palate. I found the wine accompaniment to be mostly very suitable, but it was overshadowed by the varied non-alcoholic accompaniment made from the wildest homemade juice combinations, which always went perfectly. Many dishes are served at the table with incredibly tasty sauces, for example made from potato peelings. The ambience in the restaurant matches the food perfectly - elegant, but at the same time creative and playful. After a welcome drink in the in-house bar, we took an elevator up to the dining room, which we reached via a small detour that will not be revealed at this point. The only 16 guests were divided into two guest rooms on different floors, creating a very private, almost intimate atmosphere. On the other hand, you also feel connected to the other guests in the room as a group that is experiencing a culinary adventure together. This is probably not least because the dishes and the wine pairings are always presented to the whole group and not individually at the table. We particularly liked this intimacy! In conclusion, a visit to SEVEN SWANS is an absolute highlight that we definitely want to repeat - if we get a table! Looking for points of criticism here would be almost ridiculous in view of the evening's success. It remains to be seen whether it takes two very experimental “orange wines” in a row or whether one has to obsessively try to imitate a chocolate-like final dessert in the last course (apparently at the repeated request of previous guests!). But Ricky, as he admitted in conversation after the end of the menu, also wants to offend and challenge the guests with his creations - perhaps my palate was simply too traditional in this respect? But be that as it may, to harp on these points would literally be “complaining at a high level”, and SEVEN SWANS doesn’t deserve that. You can visit the restaurant out of conviction and because of its laudable and radical sustainability ideology, or because it is the much-titled “first vegan star restaurant”. Completely separate from all of this, for us it is above all a restaurant where the food is incredibly tasty and incredibly creative, and at the end of the day that is the most important thing. Thank you for the fascinating evening! - Many greetings from Rick(y) and Anna Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
