Sang Kee is a really homey spot on the edge of Chinatown. On my most recent visit, I had the beef noodle soup and it was quite distinct from the Taiwanese kind, and unique in the sense that there were orange peels among the spices in the broth, giving it a fragrant aroma. We also got it with the wide noodles which were very silky and light. This was balanced by the hearty and tender beef which fell right off the bone. The food here is definitely much better than the University City location. I need to actually get the peking duck one day though..

I had heard good things about the Peking Duck from Sang Kee Peking Duck House for a while and was able to finally try it. We got the Peking duck (half duck) with lotus leaf buns, and it also came with a side of rice. The Peking Duck had surprisingly crispy skin despite sitting in tupperware for almost 45 minutes because we ordered delivery. The flavor of the duck was quite good too, but I'm sure the overall taste and quality would have been better had I been able to eat it fresh. My only other complaint about the duck is that I wish there was more meat. The lotus leaf buns were also still warm and fluffy, and while I thought the sauce was a good complementt to the duck, I only wish they included more.
