Authentic southindian Food!!
Well priced for the portion you get. This great hole in the wall is a neighborhood favorite. Staff is always friendly and we have never had to wait long for to go orders. Hope they stick around for a good long while!
Finally, an establishment I can say we will definitely return to in the Austin area! Sangam Chettinad is located in the Milwood neighborhood just off McNeil and W Parmer, and is a must try. Food: There's a lot to choose from. We started with the Chicken 65, chicken marinated in spices and then deep fried. It was served with lime wedges and sliced red onion. Chicken tikka masala had almost a hint of pumpkin to it. Portions were good, and the curry was delicious. I ordered the 3 Kal Dosas with mutton curry. Served on a stainless steel platter, the dosas sit on top of a banana leaf, and they are the size of a dinner plate each. The mutton curry was dense, dark and rich. We also tried the parotta with chicken curry. That was the best curry of the evening, and it had quite a spice kick. The parotta was a little dry and flaky, but freshly made and tasty. Service: Two different servers took our order, one took the appetizer, the other took the main. Otherwise, service was decent. There's water provided in a jug on the table, and they were quick to replenish that when we were out. Cost: One appetizer, a chicken tikka masala, 3 kal dosas with mutton curry, a parotta with chicken, and one garlic naan ran us $45 after tax. Overall: Lots of parking, food was delicious, and staff were friendly. They take cards. Eat in or call for a pickup.
