See The Portland World Market by default, the clients' piece of advice is to visit this restaurant as well. It's great to try Japanese cuisine. Do not leave without enjoying good tapas, soft-shell crabs and bao. That's a nice idea to order tasty chocolate cakes, che and asida. Delicious wine, martinis or gin are waiting for you at Saucebox. Don't miss the opportunity to order great thai tea, chocolate frappe or pineapple juice.

I had a hard time comprehending why people like this place so much. The food isn't anything impressive, the location is terrible (driving downtown where everything is dirty), parking is expensive and limited, service was only ok. This is a place for people who want to get intoxicated because intoxication will help them forget how incompetent this place is.

Only been to this place a few times, but their happy hour prices help out a lot. Their cocktails are always interesting. Sad to hear they won't reopen.

Saucebox has been a friend to artists. Many afterparties. My most amazing experience there was the after party for a Rennie Harris performance before he was famous. Rennie Harris is a person and a dance group from Philly contextualizing hip hop dance on to the modern dance stage. He has brought his dance group and movement into prisons. He related the intensity for them to run into friends inside and generations of friends inside. The party got started and pretty soon the Rennie Harris dancers were jamming out their moves doing standing backflips to the DJ sounds. I do not even know how that is possible, but it was lovely. My date that night was from Philly and one of the dancers had dated her sister who she resembled, so there was some super-strong sexy magnetism, which often happens at Saucebox! Saucebox has amazing happy hour food and a lovely Java-spiced salmon and their Brussels. Craft cocktails, superb. The staff has always been present even on regular visits. Saucebox was the first project by a now famous architect too. They still sometimes have DJ nights when the dance floor is activated.
