Absolutely amazing! Ordered a chili cheese dog and upgraded to the 1/4 lb dog....chili tasted homemade and was amazing! Would highly recommend
Gluten-free deliciousness!! I love hot dogs but haven't been able to eat one on a bun in more than 3 years, due to being gluten-intolerant. As anyone who has to be GF knows only too well, many gluten-free breads (whether commercially-produced or homemade) are often a frustrating experiment and a pitiful substitute for their gluten-based counterparts, and frequently are not worth eating. Well, I am very happy to say that Saucy Dogs' gluten-free buns are *terrific*! Their innovative combinations of toppings that they offer are so good, it'd definitely be worth eating them "bunless"...but I am so happy that I can enjoy them on a bun! :-) I know it is not easy to accommodate GF dietary needs. Mahalo nui loa, Saucy Dogs! P.S. If you do need gluten-free buns, I suggest calling shortly before you go, to make sure they still have some GF buns on hand; to ensure maximum freshness, they generally have a limited quantity of GF buns available each day.
Great hot dogs, I mean - seriously great hot dogs! I know those aren't normally words you'd put together but in this case the quality of everything was exceptional (As in good). Lots of different toppings, sides and soft drinks all within a vintage surfer rock and roll themed tiny diner. There are a few seats but I'd say this is a pop in and purchase for eating at the beach or on the road kinda place. Lovely young couple who run the place too, hopefully they can get a larger premise in the future but as is it is probably the best place in Hilo for fast food and I'm sure you'll agree if you try it out yourself.
