I highly rate the food..you will get a lot of food on your plate and the prices are really reasonable..despite I'm a very picky person.. I was curious at first but when I went inside ..the restaurant is really clean..the presentation of the food was rea good..I highly recommend you people to check this place out whenever you come to Iceland
Our first official night in Reykjavik we wasn't quite sure of where to go for dinner as it was just me and my wife celebrating my birthday so we played it safe and when we saw Chinese we both agreed as you always say can't go wrong with Chinese lol. It's your typical Chinese restaurant in a big city very traditional and quite run down which now days are classed as authentic however the food was very delicious and massive portions however as I'll end up saying in every review of Iceland it's quite expensive. We had what we normally would have had in London so this consists of a starter in the middle and 2 dishes with and a drink each which would normally set you back about 30-50 pounds in London however here we payed just over 75 and it was just your average Chinese so you can imagine how pricey day to day life can be but overall a nice place to feed your self and you won't be disappointed in the quality that's for sure.
As we stood outside, interested to see the menu, we were greeted by two gentlemen who offered us a menu. We were not pressurised to enter the restaurant but sat down anyway to escape the cold as both myself and my partner had been on an all day trip during the day and were starving. After ordering our meal I decided to look at the reviews and I was filled with worry as there were plenty of negative reviews which I later discovered I did not need to be concerned about. The food came and the crispy chicken was the best of the bunch. It was a mix of both thigh and breast, it also included a side of rice which was a great surprise. The chicken rice dish that we ordered was also filled with flavour, piled high and left nothing wanting. The pork spring rolls were also plentiful and were a perfect side that had much more meat than I was used to in a spring roll. The service was quick and the plates were cleared efficiently with the waiter making sure that no dirty plates were kept sat at the table for too long. They were not pushy and left us to eat our meal, asking us if we enjoyed it during and afterwards of which we certainly did.The negative reviews of Shanghai were certainly not warranted in my opinion, something which may put off prospective customers from eating here. The prices were also completely acceptable and reasonable considering the area and how Chinese food can often be on the expensive side.On the whole it was pleasant, not the greatest Chinese food I have ever tasted but it certainly didn't taste like chemicals or reheated as other reviews have stated. The service was excellent and if you are looking for a reasonably priced meal to help keep you out from the cold then I certainly wouldn't shy away from recommending them again.
