The place was super cute. I don't recommend wearing a dress when doing floor seating. Food was great and fast and fresh. Service was courteous. Vibe was nice.
Shibui is a TREAT!!! Experience: I've been wondering if Miami has traditional floor seating Japanese restaurants for a while. I was definitely surprised when we were lead upstairs to an ADORABLE floor seating experience. I don't know about you... but when I eat out I like to experience things I don't experience at home. Eating Japanese food in a traditional setting is not something I experience at home. Food: We had the baby octopus and beef fried gyozas, truthfully they were both a little underwhelming. The sushi was very good. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it was definitely very good. We ordered the Spicy Crunchy Dragon Roll, this one was my favorite! Flavor was amazing... but it kept falling apart. Not sure what the problem was but it wouldn't stay firm after the soy sauce. We also ordered the Volcano Roll.... I'm used to having the shredded crab, here they serve it with a "crab salad" on the side that tastes like creme cheese.   I tried a new roll called Kani Shu(or something like that), it is so refreshing. Instead of seaweed it's rolled into sliced cucumber. I suggest letting it sit on the sauce. Dessert was very good. We had the Banana Tempura with Ice Cream and Thai Donuts. They were very good!! Service: The servers and staff were so friendly, pleasant and helpful. They gave us time to talk and weren't at all pushy. I really appreciated that!!!! Con: The lighting in the restaurant is romantically dim. Many people enjoy that, but I personally like a little more lighting. Perhaps one of those electronic candles would keep the room dim but a little more visible.
This place is a hidden gem around sunset. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The 2nd floor has floor sitting for an awesome romantic different date. Did not have to wait to be seated. The food was great but not the best sushi in town. Also very reasonable prices. We had 2 appetizers, 3 sushi rolls, tea, and 2 desserts and the total was $62  amazing price. The dim lights and the floor sitting make the perfect date that will leave your date speechless. Bring her/him here as a surprise!
