Yeah yeah I know what the hell am I doing at a little hole in the wall place in a Northridge strip mall that if you blinked would miss it called "Sipan Bakery Express" Glad you asked. I'm loving me some legit food 4.5 stars! Sipan is a nondescript dive serving up fresh goodies that tantalize the taste buds and tease your senses. I had the falafel plate and a taco seriously an Armenian taco that rocked my world. I'm not kidding the plate was the real deal and amazingly good with generous portions. Ok, I digress so let me start at the beginning. I was lost in Northridge thank you Waze so I begin taking side streets to avoid the traffic around CSUN and viola just past a run down building and bus stop I see a mirage on the horizon next to a liquor store and pizza place it's Sipan Bakery Express. What the heck let's do this... Sipan it is, I park in one of the (4) parking spaces did I mention small dive before? just checking because I want to make sure we were clear as too the logistics and scope of this little bad boy! I enter and hear a voice from the back "Hi I'll be right there" clearly dude is psychic or I walk really loud... Simon appears and says what can I get you everything is amazing. Really dude is confident and starts explaining the menu I tell him no need I can read and matriculated at UCLA not CSUN lol No JK. Simon says wow I've always wanted to use that in a review!!! Everything is scratch made and he loves the simple yet refined Falafel plate and I must have a taco. Ok Simon says god I love saying that!!! Ok so I'm all in and dude was dead on accurate. The Hummus, pickled cabbage, freshly baked pita and pipping hot Falafel balls were legit but the little taco killed it with bursting flavor profiles not typically found in of all things Armenian tacos. The space has like (2) tables, a fridge with drinks and a counter with some baked goodies thus the bakery portion of the name! Sipan Bakery Express screams Diners, Drive-ins and Dives it's a grab a go gem and Simon is the bomb. Oh yeah, it is cheap! Hello Yelp did you HEAR me it's cheap and legit. When in Northridge go see Simon and enjoy Sipan. Trust me and your welcome...
