Cozy and relaxed spot for a group dinner. Family-style is definitely the way to go here to try a variety of dishes. When we first arrived, the hostess (or perhaps she was the manager?) pushed our group towards the set menu, but we ultimately chose a-la-carte since we weren't overly hungry. For our party of 8, we shared 4 tapas and 3 paellas (2 servings each), which was a good, comfortable amount for all of us. Paellas take about ~30 min and should be ordered first, and we appreciated our servers' help in guiding us on timing so we could get just the right rice consistency for our socarrat crust. Overall, a good meal. The group's unanimous favorite paella was the Arroz Negro (squid ink paella with seafood), while for tapas I loved the crispy brussel sprouts.

This is the best paella I've had outside of Spain. So good! I love how "al dente" the rice is and its seasoned very well! Personally, I wish there was more rice and less toppings but the seafood was also very good. Our server was very attentive and filled our waters very often! The bunuelos were good, but unexpectedly small. I definitely expected something a little bigger for the price.

Socarrat has my favorite tortilla española of all of the tapas restaurants I’ve been to in nyc! It has the perfect egg to potato ratio and the right doneness; not too runny or too cooked. The patatas bravas are crispy, starchy, and delectable. However, the mayo was a little too garlic forward for me. The cochinillo and napoleon de verduras were both good, but we’d probably order something else next time. Overall it’s a good neighborhood spot with great service and it’s easy to get in to. Would come again! Vegetarian options: Patatas bravas, Napoleón de verduras, tortilla española Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Patatas Bravas Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes
