Atmosphere lively and enjoyable. Squid pintxos superb.
This place isn't as good as the ratings suggest. The sangria is very weak but the crabmeat crepe was unique.
When I first saw Sport Bar, I assumed it was like an American Sports Bar and didn't think much of it. We were going bar to bar, pacing ourselves for a whole afternoon of all out pintxos eating. As we walked by Sport Bar, we saw a lot of people inside which could only mean the food was legit. We decided to at least check out the pintxos display on the bar. We ended up ordering the Gilda, San Sebastian's first pintxo, which is an olive, green chillies and anchovy, all pickled, skewered with a toothpick. It was not spicy and surprisingly delicious. Everyone visiting San Sebastian should try the Gilda at least once. My husband also had an eggplant toast with chorizo, quail egg, topped with pesto, which was okay. As I scanned the buffet of food on the table, deciding what to order the next, the foie a la plancha on the chalkboard caught my eye. At €3,70 each, this deal was too good to pass up, so we ordered three. It was absolute heaven, but a girl's gotta have self control, it's not like this stuff is healthy for you, you know. We left Sport Bar after that, only to come back at the end of our afternoon of eating for more foie gras. Don't judge us. And just like that Sport Bar became our favorite pintxos bar in all of San Sebastian.
