The St Helena Restaurant in Bedford is a fine dining establishment that offers exquisite cuisine and a warm, welcoming ambiance. The interior design is elegant and tasteful, with festive lights leading to the entrance. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food and service provided. Located on a dead-end road in Elstow, this quiet little spot is perfect for a romantic evening or a celebration with friends.
The menu features a set price for three courses, including a small chef's special to whet the appetite, bread, coffee, and petit fours. Vegetarian options are available. The restaurant boasts an extensive wine menu with some reasonably priced options. The staff is attentive and friendly, ensuring that all your needs are catered for.
Some of the standout dishes on the menu include the scallop and goat cheese entrees, beef fillet mains, and haggis starter. The cocktails and soft drinks are also worth trying, as well as the red wine recommended by the owner, Raff.
One of the special features of this place is the beautiful garden where guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks or a nightcap. The table is yours for the night, with no second sittings or rush. The owners, Raff and Frank, make you feel extremely welcome, ensuring that your experience is unforgettable.
In conclusion, The St Helena Restaurant is an exceptional eatery that provides outstanding food, service, attention to detail, and a memorable experience. It is highly recommended for anyone seeking fine dining in Bedfordshire.

Firstly I would like to say the food, wine and the setting is amazing.
I had dinner there last night with 3 friends and have to say how amazed i was with how a situation was handled...... by the owner!!!!!
My observation was a comment I made in connection with a bottle of vinegar that was placed on the table, I have eaten in lots of restaurants all over the world and never have I seen this, I raised the point to the owner and his reaction was unbelievable and i quote "YOU ARE SUCH A SNOB AND I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYONE SAY THIS" is this how to deal with a paying customer.
Having recently moved to the area I can assure you I will not return and will be telling all my friends about this.
Such a shame.......
