Wierd incident happened with us at this restaurant. And i hope sincerely that the management will be reading this review. We were girls at this restaurant today evening. As we entered, a bunch of dodgy boys started making wierd indirect comments and we were thoroughly uncomfortable throughout the meal. At the end of the most amazing meal, we askdd for the cheque, paid and left. Just as we were about to take off in the taxi, the lady at the restaurant came running out saying we had paid less. I clearly remember counting the money more than a few times as i needed to borrow change from my sister dining with us. I had given a fifty pound note, a twenty pound, a tenner, a five and 2 pounds in coins for my bill of 86.77 and was then accused by the lady for having paid less. Anyway, i did not want to argue with her and gave her the 30 she insisted i had paid less. I appeal to the management to kindly check on the CCTC camera as i am certain something went wrong in the restaurant itself and that the other guests had tampered with the cheque. I am so embarrassed to be writing this review because the women serving at the restaurant thought we were taking off with their money which was obviously not the case. Anyway, lesson learnt, do check the bill amount before leaving this restaurant and please make sure u hand over the money to the correct person before you leave this place! Good luck!
Horrible service which is a shame because the food is good! When I say horrible service - I would rate it a zero if I had the option. The table next to us had five people for dinner on a Wednesday. Only three people of them were eating main meals because the other two did not eat cheese, when they told the waitress this she rudely insisted that they must all order main meals. The two who weren’t having main meals instead ordered desserts and coffees - the waitress kept on shouting at them. Ten minutes later she came back and asked them to move around the table while she took away the two tables which were joined together for five people to instead one table for five people. She then set the second table for two people, in an empty restaurant on a Wednesday while five people huddled on one table! Funnily enough that table she took away stayed empty for the entire night :) we all watched in dismay at the way they were treated and also our services from both waitresses was pretty much along the same terrible line!
A fun experience - it's worth visiting for the old school alpine decor. A very classic menu - the mushrooms in garlic sauce were absolutely delicious. The fondue itself was reasonable, although expensive. The Swiss House wine was perfectly drinkable. Service was friendly, but they did not seem to like us pouring our own drink or altering the heat on the fondue which was a little inconvenient considering it's quite a casual restaurant. Tiny, so definitely worth booking in advance.
