Tiny restaurant with a smattering of tables and a chefs counter. Definitely try for the counter if you’re alone or a party of 2 (or 6) Do not attempt to walk in at least on a weekend; saw 2 or 3 couples make an attempt only to be sent away Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I had a business dinner this week and wanted to try something new. Sushi Maruyama was definitely that. It is a small quaint place with a full reservation log. It took a few tries to even reach them. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We asked them to recommend our dinner and they did a great job... not a single bite was anything but excellent. Now, where they can work on, is common sense things: 1.) Get an easier reservation system where one doesn't have to call multiples times to book a res. 2.) Don't ask clients to finish by 7pm and emphasize it multiple times. It's rude and after spending $500-$1000, it leaves a bad taste. 3.) If ou open at 5:30pm and the reservation is at 5:30pm, and it is 45 degrees outside and they walk in 2-3 minutes early, don't tell them to leave and come back. We almost left for good. Even so, I didn't let these things spoil the evening, and the food was so good, I still gave it 5 stars.
