This place is very expensive (€40 for four small dishes of sashimi). However the chef is very experienced --although he nags is you want to take his picture :P -- and he is very attendant, careful, pays attention to detail and is educated in what he does. I recommend going to Sushimou as it is an incredible, authentic experience. As for the bill, don't forget that what you give is what you get. Don't forget to call in advance.
Only 12 seats, so you'll want to call or email (Antonis also responds to Facebooks Messager) in advance, weeks are better, but last minute works if you are flexible...
This is a very small place with seats only at the sushi bar, and reservations are to be made weeks in advance. The intimacy is nice with direct contact with the sushi chef who is willing to answer any question you may have on the food. First up was a glass of plum wine. I was taken aback when they served it to me with a large ice cube in it. This is astoundingly unjapanese. I surmised from this first act that this is probably not going to be a Japanese food experience, but a Greek take on Japanese food. That being said I found my instincts were really not far off the mark. I found the sushi to be nothing outstanding. Definitely edible, nicely presented but did not live up to the hype. I've had the same quality fish at many other establishments in other parts of the world, which surprised me with Athens being right on the sea. Since this is the only sushi place I've been to in Greece I can't compare it to any others, but don't expect to have your taste buds treated to an orgasmic experience. During my whole meal I couldn't help but think how disappointed any Japanese person would have been if they came here to cure any home sickness they may have had through the consumption of some quality familiar food. As for me I won't return. Once was enough. I'm finding the Greek seafood restaurants serve up much better tasting cuisine.
