Expensive for adequate/substandard food (Spanish bias)I am a Spaniard (from Madrid) that has been in Boston for more or less a year so I will admit I am biased given that I am used to the quality and price range of Spain when it comes to its cuisine. The atmosphere at Taberna de Haro was good, the staff nice and attentive, but the quality to price ratio of the food was quite low. First, I must point out that this is Boston and the restaurant is located in a nice area (next to Tatte and Whole Foods), so I understand that the food is not going to be cheap. However, for this very reason I expected good food, maybe not authentic, but at least enjoyable. Some of the tapas such as the sausage, octopus, croquetas and cheese were indeed enjoyable, or at least adequate. Something you could try at any average bar in Spain (although there the portions would be considerably bigger and the price lower). However, the Spanish omelette (tortilla de patatas) was simply bad. The texture was right but the flavor unpleasant (burnt and salty). This is honestly one of the worst I have eaten (and as you can imagine I have eaten quite a lot of them, including ready to eat-frozen type). Given that it is a Spanish restaurant and that tortilla de patatas is a staple of our cuisine, I think this is quite a big mistake.I will be most definitely not coming back. The quality and authenticity of the food served just does not match the price.
A warm and cozy atmosphere. Great small bites and an extensive wine list. Friendly service.
Overpriced Spanish food for the amount served. However the taste is very authentic!!
