Taste something new from the Indian cuisine. You will be offered such food as good paneer, cheese naans and lamb tikka, don't hesitate to try them. Tasty is the most suitable description for gulab jamun at this restaurant. It might be good to enjoy delicious wine or good beer. Mango lassi is great, try it.

Quality of food wasn't great. Ordered chicken tikka and some of the pieces were way overcooked. Also, ordered aubergine curry, which had a metal-like piece inside.

Unfortunately I have to give tandoori a 4/10. Details: I used to love this place. I live in the Flats that are 1 block from here. I have seen them go through different managers, and have frequented this place for the last 5 years. In that time the quality/professionalism of staff has gone down as well as the quality/quantity of food. **Food(2/10):** I usually buy the same thing. Which is how I can tell when the quality and quantity has changed. I primarily order the curry chicken. In the past- you would get a bowl full of tender breast chunks with a flavorful taste of curry and spices with a hint of tomato. ($15.99) and they would constantly bring out more fresh Basmati rice, which is free with your dine in meal. Now- I get a bowl with very little curry taste to it. 6 small chunks of chicken and a "sauce" that was mostly of tomatoes. Think canned tomato soup with curry and 6 small cubes of chicken. For $17.99 (Price increase, the nerve) ?! And between myself and my friend they never brought more rice. Service (4/10): In the past the staff was both caring, and attentive, and would even make light conversation while always making sure you had a full cup of water, rice was always topped off, sauces for naan were available. Their uniforms were usually crisp and professional. Yesterday- The waiter gave me room temperature water, which I had to request ice. Never asked if we wanted any other drink. My friend who ordered wine (when asked what he wanted for his entree) was never offered a second glass. They never asked how the food tasted. They didn't refill the rice, which was literally at the point where i was scraping the bowl to get enough rice to finish my curry. One of the waiters, who I think may have been the owner/manager came to our table in jeans and a jacket with her hands in her pocket, not in a uniform (they usually wear all black) and started taking our order. If she didn't take our order I wouldn't have had a clue as to who she was!! I thought it completely unprofessional. Also it was my friends first time there, as it is for many of my friends who I use to be excited to take to Tandoori Nights, and she didn't help him decide on any dish. Usually the staff would go over the menu and flavor or spice preference with a patron and advise on a dish. Atmosphere: In the past this place use to have a great upscale , low key vibe too it with great Indian music playing. Yesterday, we were sat at a booth with a table that was too small for the booth, still confused on that change. There was no audible music besides the music blasting from the Kitchen (Rhianna-Umbrella, seriously it was that loud) at least the staff were having fun, I guess. I had never been so disappointed in my experience with Tandoori before. No they never were the busiest restaurant on Bethesda row, but they had a nice cozy ambiance that drew in faithful customers like me over the busy crowded fare. Conclusion: I'm not sure if they are planning to sustain operations in Bethesda, or if they plan to close soon but based on the direction they are going I don't see them remaining in this location very long. They should look at all the other businesses that have relocated or closed on Bethesda avenue and try to avoid something like this affecting them. To the Owners: The business is clearly being poorly run. You missed opportunities to offer more wine, give us drinks that weren't just free water, and You could charge $20 a for a bowl of curry if you Offered more chicken in the portion. At the very least you should be cutting an entire chicken breast into a 1 bowl of curry. Giving someone literally 6 cubes of chicken and telling them its $17 is sad, and from one of the owners I have met before (young male , forgot his name) it wouldn't have been acceptable to him. For the first time. I cannot and will not recommend Tandoori Nights. Maybe Ill try them a little later on and update this review if things have changed for better or for worse.
