We a party of eight and reservations, we were greeted and seated promptly.  Overall, we received great service from beginning to end.  The drink and dinner menu is extensive and you're sure to find something to please you.  We tried several appetizers and all the main dishes were wonderful.  No complaints from anyone.  We'll be back.
Sometimes, you have to write a review based on value for your money. Tanta has a lunch menu. Tanta is also in River North so you'd expect their lunches to be about $30 with tip! And yet, they somehow have this roast chicken entree on the menu for $12! $12!!! I mean, look at this plate! My mother loved me but NEVER put together a plate like that unless it was a holiday! You're missing out if you don't come by for lunch.
This place has a great happy hour! And that's about all you need to come here for. $5 ceviche and $10 pisco sours that are to die for. Great selection of Peruvian beers! Unfortunately for the majority of my dinner a family brung a screaming child into the open format restaurant and the sound resonated throughout my the duration of my meal. The food was overpriced for what I can get at any other Peruvian place that is more of your typical hole in the wall, not downtown location (I get it, rent must be expensive), with minimal interior decoration. Nothing was really wow when my boyfriend and I came here for date night. I get it's fusion and some dishes sounded good where execution fell flat, but some dishes are not fusion - like lomo saltado, which came with a higher than normal price tag and smaller portion than I would get anywhere else. Definitely will be back for happy hour, not a meal.
