It's worth coming to this restaurant for nicely cooked pork tacos, tortillas and omelettes. The enjoyable service is its big benefit. Google users awarded Taqueria Don Beto 4.2.

We were headed off to some cenotes with our tour group, but we were so hungry, so the tour guide brought us to the place with the best Cochinita pibil (slow roasted pork dish - usually marinated in orange juice and seasoned with annatto seed)! It did not disappoint. Right on the side of the road, you'll see some open seating. They make fresh corn tortillas, and are those a treat compared to what you get in the US! If I remember correctly, we ordered a lean plate, and also a fattier plate (the best!), and some had pieces of liver I think... To be honest, all of them were great, meat was tender, juicy and flavorful. If I had to order again, I'd order all fatty pork haha. Don't forget to order a glass bottled coke to wash it all down, much better since it's made out of real cane sugar! What a great breakfasttttttt (and yes, they eat tacos for breakfast in Mexico!).

I have mixed feelings about this place so please take with a grain of salt. We visited this placed because it was on Eaters list and had good reviews. Its a short walk from the parking lot of the Tulum Ruins so you can visit after or before. Its meant to be the best Cochinita Pibil (Yucatán-Style slow roasted Pork) Tortas or Tacos in town. Upon arrival, you notice lots of different tables and realize that its actually 3 different outdoor resturants and Don Beto doesn't have much of a sign. Another waiter tried to get us to sit down at his place and told us its all the same (but its NOT don beto). Finally we sit down at Don Beto and a guy waiter comes to take our order. There is NO menu so we asked for 4 cochinita pibil and 4 asada (beef). He nods and leaves... He then whispers into the ear of the old granny making our tacos and brings us ALL cochinita pibil tacos. Thankfully we have a friend who speaks spanish and he tells him that he got the order wrong and the waiter just says that is is beef. CLEARLY its not beef because they all looked the same but we were hungry and just wanted to get out of there. The cochinita pibil was good, but he clearly lied to us trying to think the pork tacos were beef. Its a shame that the good food is let down by bad service. The pork is tender and juicy and the salsa they give you is pretty good and spicy.  It was about 13 pesos per taco. A bit more if you get the torta. So... if you want cochinita pibil - def worth it. But if you also want something else.. they don't have it.
The Cochinita pibil was downright juicy, moist, and mouthwatering! We arrived about 0730, a quick stop on our way to be at the Tulum Ruins at opening. Service was quick. No menu since they were just opening but all we wanted were these tacos we had heard about and they were just as delicious as Honorio, if not better.
