Best tacos I have ever had in this country.
This place has good food but the customer service is awful! The waitress acted like she didn't want to serve us and acted extremely racist. Didn't come check on us at all or refill drinks. We could never flag her because she was nowhere to be found. Don't waste your money!
It's hard to believe that I haven't been back to La Taqueria Mexican Grill since 2013 to the best of my knowledge because they really are Lynchburg's hidden gem of Mexican restaurants. Although the menu is somewhat more limited than other Mexican restaurants everything is authentic, delicious and the service was good for the eight-table restaurant. They also have a full bar.
We started off with some chips and salsa ($1.75), a couple of Negra Modelas ($3.75), some guacamole ($3.50) and, just for the hell of it, we ordered some Cebolla Asadas ($2.25), which turns out to just be a giant plate of grilled onions.
I got the Quesadilla Fajita ($9.99) with added shrimp ($1.50), which I loved and was shocked by how large it was. Brad got the Plato Barbacoa ($9.50) with rice, beans and toreado (grilled Jalapeno pepper), which tasted exactly like my mom's roast beef: tender, tasty and falling apart at the touch of a fork. Shannon and Carly both got the Fajitas ($9.99), one steak and one chicken, which come with rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole and tortillas. The total was $62.64.
