Telegraph is a great restaurant of Baltic cuisine located in a former German post office and telegraph building. The interior is authentic and it is a must-visit for tourists in Zelenogradsk. The food is excellent, with a delicious stroganina from pelamid, superb som with zucchini, a variety of Baltic snacks, great desserts and coffee. The waiters are knowledgeable and can explain how to eat certain dishes. Reservations should be made in advance. You can even send a souvenir postcard home from the bar.
The building itself is very beautiful and has a retro atmosphere, with many objects related to the restaurant's name. However, seating is limited and during peak season it is advisable to book in advance to avoid long waiting times. The menu is small but varied, although prices are slightly higher due to its location. In general, I recommend visiting Telegraph, especially for their delicious fish dishes. The marcipan liqueur as a dessert or aperitif is also wonderful.
The future jewel of the Baltic coast is the amazing architectural ensemble on the shore of the Baltic Sea, which harmoniously blends into the natural landscape of the eastern Prussian white sand beach and forests, untouched by construction of very beautiful houses. We were lucky to have a rest in this wonderful resort - Residence!
We visited Telegraph three times in three days. In short, the restaurant concept is great, the food is delicious, but the service could be better. In detail, we really liked the food, the menu was well thought out - nothing extra, everything was very tasty. I recommend trying the marble beef tartare and eggplant in sauce. We also really liked the non-alcoholic cocktail - Bloody Mary. It was just what you need in the heat - cold tomato juice with pepper.
However, there are some drawbacks - the service was very disappointing. We ordered a non-alcoholic Bloody Mary for two days in a row and it was very tasty. We came for the third time before leaving Zelenograd and ordered our favorite cocktail, the girl brought us drinks. We try - not that, here is a completely different cocktail. Almost no taste, tomato juice not like that. We called the waiter, she was surprised, took the bartender, came back with the answer that nothing had changed and this was the same classic Bloody Mary. As a result, it turned out that they brought us an alcoholic cocktail instead of a non-alcoholic one that we ordered. But the waiter flatly refused to admit her mistake, arguing that we had not listened carefully to the order repeat and had not interpreted "classic Bloody Mary" as "alcoholic Bloody Mary". She was not even worried that we were both driving and such a mistake could lead to worse consequences. Unfortunately, the situation was simply ignored, although a simple "sorry" would have been enough.
