very good ethiopian fare, but not the best ever. friendly staff and relaxed vibe (small family owned place). we had the vegetarian combo platter (with 7ish veg foods), which has a good variety of vegetables and legumes. we liked most of them but a couple were not great. thr tea is really nice and has free refills!!
This restaurant deserves 5-stars in every single category: value, taste, service, and environment! 1) Value: We ordered the family style vegetarian plate for $35 (before tip), which they said serves 2-4 people. We were a party of 3 and could barely finish it. We were all so happy and full by the end of our meal! 2) Taste: Every one of the seven dishes on the vegetarian plate were absolutely delicious. Everything was perfectly spiced and seasoned. We all really enjoyed jumping from one dish to the next, using their delicious injera to sop up all the flavor. Also, as a family that keeps kosher it was nice to have so many delicious options to eat. 3) Service: Our server was really kind and attentive. We were greeted with warm tea pretty much as soon as we entered, and we were checked in on throughout the meal. They even said that as soon as we eat there we become "part of the family." So sweet. 4) Environment: We went around the time of the dinner rush and the restaurant was filled with happy customers. The music and set-up of the space feels very homey. Overall, this is my #1 restaurant recommendation! I truly can't say a bad thing about it. One of my favorite restaurant meals ever.
Immediately you are greeted with kindness and a unlimited tea on the house. We tried spinach and lentil sambusa. The lentil is so flavorful. It was my fav. But I couldn't believe how much spinach they could pack into a sambusa and manage to keep it crispy and flaky. Injeera was plentiful to soak up the flavors packed into every dish. The lamb was excellent and paired perfectly with the collard greens. We were so stuffed! $30 easily feeds 3 with a 2 meat 3 vegatarian option combo plate.
