Love it! All meat you can eat!
Love it.... the meat are exquisite
We visited the Dadeland mall location on Saturday to celebrate my husbands birthday. We love Texas de Brazil and always go to one of their locations, usually the ones in Miami and Orlando. This time around, we were very disappointed in the service. We were shown to our seats, but due to my son's visual impairment (which causes severe light sensitivity) we asked for our seats to be moved away from the window. Even though the hostess was accommodating, the server seemed to be annoyed. We ordered our drinks and then went to the buffet area. When we got back, our drinks (juice and canned soda) were at the bar ready to be picked up, however our server was nowhere to be seen. Our drinks waited there for 5-10 minutes until she brought them over. The food was delicious and the gauchos were very attentive on how cooked we wanted our meat. I asked for the waitress to bring over a flan with a birthday candle for my husbands birthday, and when she brought it over there was no 'celebration' from the staff (singing happy birthday) which they had done for another table when we had first arrived. I thought that was odd, since all the other birthdays we had celebrated there the staff was very friendly and lovely. So once we are done with our food, we looked and looked for our waitress to ask for the check, and again she was nowhere to be found. There were 3 men, who were in suits standing up in the back, who we thought were the managers, saw we were looking for someone and did nothing, which was also odd (There has always been a manager who stops by the table to ask how everything was, and this time there were none). When we finally see our waitress in the kitchen we waive at her for the check. She brings the check over after a while and hands me the tablet to tip and sign - I'm all for giving generous tips, but I noticed that the percentage was wrong - when I asked her about it (who was right behind me, breathing down my neck to see how much tip I was gonna leave) she said she didn't know and explained about a donation to St. Jude's program they were doing. I was done with the whole experience, so I made my donation and tipped the 15% option.  Now, as I look at the bill, I noticed that the percentage was indeed wrong: my bill was $145.91 and the 15% option listed showed $25.28, when it was supposed to be $21.89. I don't mind that I tipped the $25 because I hope that the tip is shared with the gauchos, but I don't think it is right to deceive the consumer either. The only reason I'm writing this is because my family and I enjoy this restaurant very much, but the last few times we noticed a decline in quality service, and right now we're feeling like maybe we should try other churrascarias for better service. I had actually written this directly to Texas De Brazil, but didn't have a reply. Hopefully management sees this and make changes.
