We booked Sunday lunch as a big family group of 12 for a birthday treat. We were delighted to have been surprised with a private room in this gorgeous characterful pub. The staff were so kind, friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious; from soup, to burgers to a full Sunday roast! I wish this was our local pub so we could visit all the time. Dietary restrictions: I’m coeliac and they were reassuring from the moment we booked in - all the gravy was gluten free and they even got gf Yorkshire puddings in for us! Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We had a lovely Sunday roast followed by puddings at The Thatched Tavern for my father’s 70th Birthday yesterday. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the staff friendly. The pub is a quintessential English pub with lots of character. We wouldn’t hesitate booking again even though we are almost an hours drive away and would recommend to friends and family.
