Nice little gem in West Village. Walked by this restaurant and saw they had a pretty nice inside/outside bar, so decided to stop in for some drinks and dinner. Wow I highly recommend ordering The Black Derby cocktail to start off dinner, it was delicious. The atmosphere is nice and romantic, it's a decently sized restaurant so it's nice for a date or dinner with friends. The food was delicious- ordered the escargots and calamari to start. Then, had the steak frites, scallops, and halibut. I'll definitely try to stop by again next time in West Village!
We went here to celebrate my father's 70th birthday and had a lovely meal. One of the best features is that it isn't overly loud like so many NYC restaurants. We could actually have a conversation. The food was delicious all around. We had the seafood pasta, tuna tartare, fried artichoke, watermelon salad, broccolini and derby burger. Everyone enjoyed their meal. And the rose special was nice. Service was also friendly and attentive.
Solid 4.5 stars. When you first walk in it looks like a very small bar, but thankfully around the corner there's a seating area in the back. Tables are quite close together so you can easily hear your neighbors conversing so make sure you're with interesting company lol. It's dimly lit though so it still has a private feel Service was pleasant and unobtrusive. My sisters enjoyed their burgers; a very hearty choice. I was very happy with my scallops entree.  They're the kind you hope for when ordering them at a restaurant-- well seared and seasoned and they were absolutely huge. I would come back just for this. Overall, nice lowkey spot to grab dinner and drinks in the West Village.
