I made a reservation for Sunday Brunch. When we arrived at the restaurant at 10:30 the only person in the restaurant was the bartender and a couple at the bar we were told by the bartender that the server was running late and that we could sit at the bar and order drinks until she showed up I asked why could we not sit at a table and have her take the order she made up some lame excuse that she would not be able to provide the same experience as them server I’m thinking what experience the server is hnot there and you aren’t serving guests we sat for 30 minutes and still no server We ordered a coffee and a juice which never came we cancelled the reservation because we had a flight to catch that evening (sarcasm) The bartender said Barbara Lynch was opening another restaurant Maybe she should mind the ones that she has open or else any future restaurants will suffer the same fate as this one It’s a matter of time before this one goes under Thank goodness there was a restaurant next to hers called Bistrot Parisienne where we were able to grab brunch We also saw a group of 5 which the bartender turned away because they had no staff to serve Embarrassing and pathetic experience Stay away Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $1–10 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Service was great, attentive, professional and informative. I ordered the bolognese a $30 entree with a small portion that wasn’t particularly hot when it arrived. I actually chuckled to myself when I saw it! Ok for me but I wasn’t impressed. If you try this restaurant you’ll need an appetizer to go along with dinner this is a minimum $85 per person restaurant. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Last night my husband and I went to The Butcher Shop for our Valentine's dinner. I made the reservation weeks before to surprise my husband because he love the crispy duck! (Which we discovered was not on the menu). We arrived at 8:30 and were greeted by a friendly hostess. We stood near the door with 2 other couples. After a few minutes we were seated at a table for 5, which wasn't very romantic for 2. My husband asked if we could moved to a smaller open table by the window. The manager nearby was then very nasty to him. She said she could not change our table. He asked why and she said the other table was not cleaned. My husband said we would wait for it to be cleaned. She then said it was a table for 4, he said we are at a table for 5, so there is no difference. She then rudely said, "are you challenging me?" He said, we just wanted a romantic dinner with my favorite meal and with my husband. She didn't respond. My husband returned to the table very upset at the way he was treated. We were the only LGBTQ couple, could this have been the reason for this treatment? We live on Waltham Street so this is one of our neighborhood restaurants. The friendly hostess eventually came over and apologized. We left, meaning we had no reservation for Valentine's Day. We walked over to Kava, another neighborhood favorite and told the manager of our experience. He offered to seat us at the bar immediately and move us to a table once it opened. They even offered us a complimentary dessert to say they were sorry that a neighborhood restaurant treated us so poorly. Your nasty manager can learn a lot from Kava. We hope that other members of our community are not treated so badly. We will no longer be dining at tbs, if the nasty manager is there and we will be certain to share our experience in the community.
