We honestly love coming to this restaurant with our daughter! They have great kids meal options and the food for the adults are just amazing. We love the blend of cooked and raw to create a different type of sushi experience. Always a treat...they also have a great patio!
I think the hYpe has finally died around this place and thAts unfortunately because it's one of my favorites when It comes to burgers. The boisin burger with sweet potatoes fries and a sIde of cucumbers is my go to. However that runs you about $20 not including tip. Pretty pricey for a dinner that doesn't include a drink but the burger can easily be cut in half and split into two meals
The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar is so awesome and I'm grateful that Yelp led us here!   My husband and I were in Charlotte for just a few hours before our concert started near downtown and although I'm usually super prepared with Yelp research of where to eat in new cities, this time I was not.  We originally planned on parking downtown and walking around until we found something that looked tasty.  After driving around for 15 minutes and finding no affordable parking, I pulled out Yelp.  Thank goodness for the new Yelp Personalization tools because when I searched for restaurants, everything that came up was totally to my taste.  (If y'all haven't done this yet on the app, do it, so awesome) Cowfish was a top search result and based off the name and the photos of the food, I was down to give it a try.  Although it was 20 minutes from downtown, we drove there through gorgeous neighborhoods full of huge homes and well maintained yards.  My husband asked if we would be able to afford the restaurant and I was happy that the answer was yes. When we arrived at Cowfish there were already some people waiting, so we slithered through the crowd and grabbed a seat at the bar.  The service at the bar was OK, seeing that our server was also the bartender, but that's fine, to be expected at a busy restaurant. I absolutely loved the decor in here, the posters on the wall are casual and funny (and punny) yet the space is clean and is nice enough that it feels fine to spend $75-100 on dinner here.   After seeing the photos of the lobster and crab rolls on Yelp, we started with that for our appetizers and ordered Mark's sushi roll and the 4-S (sear-iously sensational sushi sandwich) to share for meals.  The appetizer came out pretty quickly and was absolutely gorgeous!  So pretty.  We enjoyed it so much because it was stuffed with seafood, fried to perfection and had delicious sauces with it.  Also the portion size is pretty big.  If I ever come back, I'll just order this for my meal. The entrees were really darn good too.  We definitely ordered way too much food, we could've just split one entree and would've been fine.  Mark's sushi roll was crispy and fried perfectly (just like the app-they have their frying process down) and was stuffed with tuna, jalapeno, cream cheese and a few other things.  It had a slight spicy to it, but wasn't overwhelming.  The sandwich, oh my goodness, was soooo delicious.  Instead of bread, this is served between two pieces of (more perfectly cooked) rice buns.  I've never had anything like this before and it was playful and I loved it very much. When you visit Cowfish, you must get a photo taken of yourself riding the large yellow Cowfish sculpture outside of the restaurant.  It's like the tree falling in the woods, if you don't get a picture on the Cowfish, did you even go there?  I dunno, just saying... This place is awesome.  5 stars, I would go here often if I lived in Charlotte. Yelp saves the day again.
