What's your favorite British cuisine specialty? Do Cadbury cream eggs count? Cause if they count, they're definitely my favorite thing in the British food scene... Now, seriously, I love (some of) their pub food. In particular, I love fish & chips. Why? Cause... What's not to love about it? I'm gonna sound like Joe (who's got the reference?! ): I love fish , I love fries , I love vinegar -> I love fish & chips! A few meters from our place, there's a restaurant called The Fish & Chips Shop. Or at least it was called this way. Cause a few months ago, they got a new name and then they merged with another restaurant (owned by the same owner): Antonia's Burger. With them everything is in the title, apparently. So now we know that there we can either eat burgers or fish & chips. We went there for lunch for my birthday and wanted to try their chicken burger. But they had run out of chicken . So we had the mandatory fish & chips and a calamari roll, which was new (for us). The roll was good but there was not enough calamari and too much sauce in our opinion. I know it's trendy to add a lot of sauce, but I'm not a big fan of sauce and, IMO, sauce should never be the protagonist. The fish was good and fresh but I must say I recalled it better. Same for the fries: they used to be super special, with lots of spices. This time they were more classic, kinda disappointing. Not that they were my favorite fries in the world , but they were something different and it's always nice to change. I found the roll quite small for the price and I had the feeling that the quantities of fish and chips were reduced compared to what they used to serve too. We paid €20 for both and it was enough food for a light meal (which was what we wanted). So it was fair, even though it really was 2 small dishes and 1 soft drink. The waiter was very nice and attentive and he took a few minutes to chat with us. Not what it used to be but still a nice option for a quick lunch. Quality & taste: 8/10 Quantities: 7/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Originality: 7/10 Ratio price / quality: 7/10 Service: 10/10 How I felt afterwards: 8/10 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
